Office of Appellate Courts Following a jury trial in Hennepin County District Court, appellant Louis Cardona Buggs was convicted of first-degree murder of Kami Talley. On appeal, appellant claims that the trial court committed reversible error in admitting the victim's statements identifying appellant as her assailant, in not limiting the scope of the state's evidence of appellant's prior assault of the victim, and in not providing the jury with any guidance to resolve a deadlock in its deliberations. Appellant further claims that he was deprived of his right to a fair trial by the improper exclusion of a juror in violation of both his and the juror's equal protection rights and through a pattern of prosecutorial misconduct. We affirm.
